To know history more one should visit historical buildings. It is said that thousands of the love of Shahjahan for his queen. It is really a great work of art and India is proud of it.

It gives us the knowledge of the period and age in which it was built. Between these paths there were cistens and fountains. People come in from all countries to see this wonder of the wonders.

From below it looked like something out of "Arabian Nights." But inside were the tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan.

The central tomb is a lofty chamber with light streaming through fine latticework, and hanging above was an elaborate lamp.

It stands on the right bank of the river Yamuna at Agra. The more you look at it, the greater is your astonishment. There is nothing in the world comparable to the Taj.

It is built of pure white marble and looks magnificent on a full moon night. There are verses from Quran written in black mosaic at the three sides of the gate. In the centre, there were two tombs of Shahjahan and his dear queen, Mumtaz Mahal. I was astonished to see the filigree work and carvings in the marble.One day with my uncle I wished to see the building. We saw the view of the Taj Mahal from the train at a distance. Like all great buildings, there is a story behind it.And it cannot get any more romantic than the Taj Mahal. ( Mahal is the word in urdu language used for Palace) How can I describe The Taj Mahal? It is one of the greatest sights in the world, some say the greatest, and like Victoria Falls, The Grand Canyon, and Macchu Picchu, it simply is one of those things you have to see in your life. To gaze in wonder at that magnificent dome and elegant gardens will be a moment that you remember for the rest of your life.And when his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, died, he was so devastated that his beard turned white overnight.He set out to create an unsurpassed eternal monument to her memory, and construction commenced in 1632.
