I would like to explain this claim by using another example in another area of knowledge i.e. Take the example of Mona Lisa painting, some people find that she is actually looking at the viewer, some think that she is not looking at them, some find that she is crying in the painting and some picturize her as smiling.So all these viewers are right in their way, as we cannot blame anyone saying that no Mona Lisa is smiling or no Mona Lisa is crying or anything for that matter.So it depends upon the state of mind of the person who is watching the painting at that time.

Being honest can bring you better quality friends and acquaintances.

So, you lied to her that you were going to a family reunion. As such, your friend may feel a sense of betrayal and start losing trust and respect from you.

One day, when your friend visiting you and trying to make casual conversation by asking your mom about the family reunion. It is much worse consequence than telling the truth in the first place.

Once you have told a lie, you need to remember that lie so as not to contradict yourself in the future.

This can create a state of anxiety as you worry about being in a situation where you could be ‘found out’.

If you never lie, you don’t need to worry about your lies being discovered and you’ll live a happier, less anxious life. Constantly telling the truth will earn you trust and respect from friends, family and work colleagues. Telling the truth shows a willingness to openly express your feelings and private thoughts.

This behavior encourages others to reciprocate, deepening friendships and relationships. Being truthful with other people means we are also being truthful with ourselves.
