Dwight David “Ike” Eisenhower (October 14, 1890 – March 28, 1969) was an American politician and general who served as the 34th President of the United States from 1953 until 1961.

He was a five-star general in the United States Army during World War II and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe.

Dwight David Eisenhower was born on October 14th, 1890 in the town of Dennison, Texas.

He was the son of David Jacob and Ida Elizabeth Eisenhower.

Eisenhower Assessed through the Lenses of Various Leadership Styles Strategic Leader Competencies General Eisenhower is one of the most notable personalities in United States history who has managed to leave its imprint on both military as well as politics. Eisenhower as a military and country leader, but new lenses through which to conduct assessments are continually on the rise.

In this order of ideas, the aim of this paper is to look at the leadership skills of General Eisenhower through the lenses of strategic leadership competencies.

Along with serving in highly ranked military positions, he also served as President of the United States for two terms. Some of these things include earning his way into college and West Point, and fulfilling a successful career in the military which some say helped him win his Presidential race. While at Fort Sam Houston, Eisenhower was promoted several times. In 1994 the American Society of Civil Engineers designated the Dwight D. Eisenhower valued peace and sought it throughout his presidency.

There are many other things that have made his life a great one, and practically each year of his life, he had accomplished more than some people do in a whole lifetime.
